Normal life has become an abstraction for us. We love our obsessively small-angled perpective, the all-daring courage of our baby-view, the freedom of our blinders, which prevent us from recognizing anything but what is visible (or invisible?). Whereas earlier we lived in a world of invisibility (or visibility?), the world of habitual masking, now, shimmering through every face we encounter, we see something we are intimately familiar with from our own home: the not at all exclusive face of the baby. Our enthusiasm knows no bounds, so we (the baby, you, I) turn our attention to something completely normal.
